KHAYYAM FAN CLUBS
Edward FitzGerald's 1859 translation of Omar Khayyam's Rubaiyat launched fanatic fervor for the Persian poet throughout the Victorian period. The 1880s featured Omar Khayyam fan clubs, as people gravitated towards the poem's advocation for lush hedonism. This early twentieth century reprint is charmingly bound in illustrated boards, featuring the florals one is encouraged to enjoy in the poem, housed in a matching box.
