THE GIFT OF SHAKESPEARE

Most well known for illustrating Queen Elizabeth II's official stamps, Edmund Dulac left his mark on the golden age of illustration through the illustrated gift book. Dulac was employed by Leicester Galleries to paint popular stories, upon which the rights to the illustrations were sold to Hodder and Stoughton to produce one illustrated gift book a year. Originally published in 1908, Dulac's opulent and ethereal illustrations captures the enchantment of Shakespeare's final independently written play. This 1982 limited edition reissue features all forty tipped-in color illustrations.
