AN EDWARDIAN TOUCH TO FAIRY TALES
Most well known for illustrating Queen Elizabeth II's official stamps, Edmund Dulac left his mark on the golden age of illustration through the illustrated gift book. Dulac was employed by Leicester Galleries to paint popular stories, upon which the rights to the illustrations were sold to Hodder and Stoughton to produce one illustrated gift book a year. Originally published in 1910, Dulac's highly decorative and regal illustrations brought a refined Edwardian touch to classics like Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Beauty and the Best. This 1981 limited edition reissue features all thirty tipped-in color illustrations.
