A CIRCUS OF GRIEF
Louisa May Alcott struggled to complete Under the Lilacs as she cared for her sick mother and struggled in the face of writer’s block. Ben Brown, a circus runaway adopted by the Moss family, slowly manifested for Alcott amidst her stress but was eventually dubbed by critics as “better than Little Women.”
This charming 1904 reprint features a 1952 owner's inscription to ffep.
