LABOR OF LOVE
Widely regarded as one of the greatest modern short story writers, William Trevor plays with the illusions of romantic life in this collection, watching his characters both succeed and fail in the labor of love. The collection's titular tale features a woman in her mid-thirties, still determined to find a husband in her small Irish town's destitute "Ballroom of Romance"; hopefully, this first edition will prove to be a better match than she's found.
