DEMYSTIFYING THE TRIP
Renowned hypnosis researcher Theodore X. Barber (1927–2005) expanded his skepticism to LSD, yoga, and marijuana in this scientific critique of previous "unquantifiable 'soft' studies." Barber made waves in psychological research by challenging the idea that hypnosis resulted in an altered state of consciousness and arguing that "hypnosis" could be caused by various social psychological variables. Barber demystified psychedelics and yoga in this volume as well, honing on on the everyday phenomena (like social pressure and setting) that cause trance-like experiences.
Presented here is a second printing with review pamphlet laid-in.
